Curiosity’s self-portrait
NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover has sent back a low-angle self-portrait. The selfie, taken by Curiosity’s Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI) on Aug. 5, 2015, combines several component images that were taken when the vehicle was above a rock target called “Buckskin.” The selfie also features two patches of pale, powdered rock material pulled from the site.
